JoJo's Bizzare Adventure

Josuke with his Stand Soft and Wet: Go Beyond

A brief history of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure

JoJo's Bizzare Adventure is a Manga and Anime created by Hirohiko Araki. JoJo's was born from Araki's interest in western media such as songs, most prevelent through how he names characters and abilities. JoJo's began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1987 to 2004 until it transfered to a monthly seinen magazine named Ultra Jump. JoJo's genre spans Action, Adventure, Supernatural, Thriller, Comedy Tragedy Mystery, and Horror. The series is most well know for its supernatural phenomenon called Stands.

Araki Created Stands when an editor said that the previous powers in the original two parts, Hamon also known as Ripple, was too restricting and boring thus Araki came up with Stands for Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. In JoJo's Part 3 and onward Stands became the main Supernatural power with Ripple/Hamon taking a backseat.

For the longest time JoJo's had been Shueisha's longest manga series to not yet recieve an animated adaption for television. However, on October 6th, 2012 JoJo's had made its debut on television animated by David Production.
